Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join our team as a Technology Education Teacher. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching technology and industrial education courses to students in a collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach technology and industrial education courses to students in grades K-12
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the British Columbia Education Plan and the Redesigned Curriculum
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning, including computers, Smartboards, digital portfolios, and other educational tools
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students and parents
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in technology education
Requirements
  • BC Professional Teaching Certificate
  • Red Seal Endorsement in a related technology/industrial education trade (an asset)
  • Two years of successful classroom teaching experience in technology/industrial education (an asset)
  • Experience in differentiating and providing inclusive learning opportunities that reflect the unique needs and interests of all students
  • Training/experience in the use of Quality Assessment practices (e.g. differentiated instruction, criterion-referenced grading, Assessment For, As and Of Learning)
  • Strong interest in innovation and inquiry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal)
What We Offer

The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.
