Softgoods Associate

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Softgoods Associate to join our team at Giant Tiger. As a Softgoods Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including knowledge of store policies and procedures.
• Ensure a positive shopping experience for customers, including maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and returns.
• Replenish merchandise around the checkout area, ensuring that products are displayed in an attractive and appealing manner.
• Follow up on hot selling items and complete markdowns and SKU changes as needed.
• Maintain planograms, labels, tickets, and signing standards, ensuring that products are displayed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Perform cycle counts as required, ensuring that inventory levels are accurate and up-to-date.
• Ensure compliance with all policies when selling tobacco and lottery products.
• Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed, including maintaining a clean and safe store environment.
• Ensure loss prevention best practices are followed, including monitoring store activity and reporting any suspicious behavior to management.

Requirements:

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide excellent service to customers in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and communication.
• Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, including processing customer transactions, maintaining inventory levels, and performing cycle counts.
• Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers, colleagues, and management in a professional and respectful manner.
