Your Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for operating various types of trucks, adhering to routes and cleaning plans in coordination with our clients. This role requires a high level of safety awareness, technical knowledge, and effective communication skills.

Our Fleet:

  • Vacuum sweeper truck
  • Mechanical sweeper truck
  • Tanker truck
  • Dump truck (12 wheels)
  • Signaling truck

Work Environment:

As a truck driver at Entretiens J.R. Villeneuve inc., you will encounter diverse environments, including urban roads, rural roads, highways, and construction sites. Our fleet is meticulously maintained to ensure reliability and efficiency on the road.

Key Competencies:

  1. Safe Driving and Adherence to Traffic Rules:
    • Obey local laws and regulations, including speed limits, traffic lights, and signs
    • Adjust driving according to weather conditions, traffic, or road conditions
    • Anticipate potential hazards and respond accordingly
  2. Knowledge of Safety Equipment:
    • Maintain vehicle safety equipment before hitting the road
    • Use safety features correctly, such as seat belts, driver assistance systems, and signaling devices
  3. Emergency Situation Management:
    • React calmly in case of an incident, knowing what actions to take
    • Provide basic first aid when needed
  4. Stress Management and Quick Decision-Making:
    • Remain calm and focused in stressful situations
    • Make quick and effective decisions in unforeseen circumstances
  5. Communication Skills:
    • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and authorities
    • Use tools like radios, GPS, or phones for coordination
  6. Route Orientation and Planning:
    • Understand roads, routes, and alternatives in case of road closures or traffic jams
    • Use GPS systems, maps, or navigation apps to plan optimal routes
  7. Physical Condition:
    • Recognize signs of fatigue and know when to take a break
  8. Punctuality and Reliability:
    • Meet delivery and travel deadlines while maintaining safety
    • Be dependable and responsible for oneself and other road users
  9. Knowledge of Transport Laws and Regulations:
    • Understand and apply laws related to professional driving
    • Adhere to eco-friendly driving practices, such as optimizing fuel consumption
  10. Interpersonal Skills:
    • Collaborate with other team members, including drivers and maintenance staff
    • Provide excellent customer service
  11. Vehicle Maintenance Management:
    • Conduct daily inspections on vehicles
    • Report any mechanical issues to maintain the vehicle's good working order
  12. Professional Attitude:
    • Demonstrate professionalism and discretion in interactions with clients and sensitive information
    • Awareness of the impact of the role and the safety of others on the road

Salary Estimate: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
