Job Description
As a Senior Soil Specialist with our reclamation team in Western Canada, you will provide technical leadership and support on various projects. You'll contribute to environmental planning and permitting efforts for privately-owned infrastructure projects, further building our soils program, and mentoring field crews. This role offers the opportunity to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams, lead soil and reclamation-based field projects, and support data collection efforts, regulatory applications, and technical report development.
This position requires strong time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. You'll have the chance to work in remote locations, lead field crews, and support other biophysical study areas such as wildlife, wetlands, and/or fisheries field assessments.
The ideal candidate will hold a diploma, B.Sc., or M.Sc. in environmental sciences or a related field and have demonstrated relevant experience completing pre- and post-construction soil assessments throughout Western Canada. They should be able to classify soil using the Canadian System of Soil Classification, provide soil mapping based on desktop assessments and fieldwork, and develop soil management units to inform construction projects.
