About the Role

This is a temporary position with a duration of 18 months, offering a unique opportunity to join the Direct Lending Funding and Renewals team at CMHC - SCHL as a Bilingual Senior Officer, Operations. In this role, you will oversee the administration and decisions relevant to lending activities for the purpose of mitigating risks, providing excellent client service, and achieving corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administration of fire insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Administration of accounts in default and/or in collection, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives, exploring opportunities for growth and development.
  • Offer advice, support, and alternative solutions to clients and stakeholders, communicating key decisions and interpreting policies.
  • Negotiate reasonable solutions in line with the risk appetite, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide effective and efficient delivery of services, contributing to service standards and turnaround times.
  • Participate in internal processes involving performance monitoring and quality assurance, reviewing and preparing detailed reporting on outcomes.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in loan activities and administration, with a strong understanding of procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of market trends and developments in Canada, as well as industry partners.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, with a strong understanding of serviced client groups in Canada.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is a requirement for this role.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A successful completion of a professional association designation would be considered an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of mortgage financing and real estate laws, default remedy, and/or property administration.
  • Experience working with clients in Indigenous communities.
