Mould Maker

We are seeking a skilled Mould Maker to join our team at Magna Exteriors. As a Mould Maker, you will be responsible for building and modifying moulds according to blueprints and interpreting designs into three-dimensional solid objects. You will also be responsible for testing, repairing, and delivering moulds and tooling, as well as providing assistance and guidance to apprentices.
Key Responsibilities- Build and modify moulds according to blueprints and designs
- Test, repair, and deliver moulds and tooling
- Provide assistance and guidance to apprentices
- Support shift with completing open action items
- Production coverage, change overs, manufacturing spares, preventative maintenance, C.I.'s, and predictive maintenance
- Carry out daily pre-start crane and toolroom inspection sheet
- Maintain a clean and organized toolroom
- Ensure clear communication of midnight shift production-related issues are passed onto all shifts and outstanding work is prioritized to be continued
- Inspect and troubleshoot new moulds
- Operate toolroom equipment effectively and safely
- Assist in the tooling process as assigned while meeting established customer requirements
- Modify, repair, and troubleshoot moulds while working to very close tolerances from blueprints, sketches, and samples
- Maintain documentation and preventative maintenance requirements of moulds
- Manage daily priorities for attainment of customer satisfaction, while also meeting production schedule commitments to achieve business objectives
- Perform assigned tasks within given timeframes and monitor/report progress to the Mould Maker Team Leader or designate
- Actively participate in continuous improvements, dimensional quality concerns, and customer issues and support department goals and objectives
- Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge
- Five years related experience and/or training in an automotive production environment
- Tool and Die Maker Certificate of qualification
- Valid forklift license
- Knowledge of CNC equipment and programming
- Basic understanding of the computer
- Support mould trials
- Ability to program and operate sink/wire EDM
- Familiar with CAD modeling (Mastercam, SolidWorks, ESPRIT, Inventor)
- Ability to work well independently without supervision
- TIG welding experience
- Automotive manufacturing experience
