We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Commercial Services department at SAIT Polytechnic. As the Director of Ancillary Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of ancillary services, including housing, dining, parking, and event management. Your leadership and strategic vision will play a critical role in enhancing the campus experience for students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement long-term business plans for Commercial Services, aligning with SAIT's strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership that fosters a service culture, teamwork, respect, and open communication across the department.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, from hiring and training to performance development and offboarding.
- Promote intentional decision-making with a focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).
- Shape a leadership culture that encourages continuous improvement and positions team members for long-term growth.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and alignment with institutional objectives.
- Establish and monitor performance metrics for ancillary services to maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Collaborate with other departments and the Strategic Leadership Team to drive innovation and enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of services.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry or general management, with at least 5 years in service-oriented roles.
- Experience leading senior experts with a high degree of independence.
- Strong proficiency in Office 365.
- Proven ability to manage critical incidents effectively.
- Demonstrated skills in collaborative leadership, accountability, and organizational management.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, including crisis communication.
- Solid understanding of legislative compliance and negotiation skills.
- Strong computer skills and experience implementing technology solutions for operational improvement.
SAIT Polytechnic offers a competitive salary range of $140,000-$175,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental care, pension plan, vacation and special leave, and flexible work options.
