Health Careers in Sask is seeking a Culturally Responsive Health Specialist to join our team. This role will play a critical part in implementing strategic directions set by the Saskatchewan Health Authority Executive Leadership Team, SHA Board of Directors, and Ministry of Health.

The estimated salary for this position is between $85,000 and $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

About the Role

This specialist will work closely with provincial system leaders, physicians, educational institutions, and community partners to deliver Ministry of Health and SHA priorities across the province.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing provincial operational and business plans, as well as supporting strategy through cross-functional collaboration within the provincial portfolio and across the organization.

This role requires strong communication and mediation skills, with a focus on traditional pathways, culturally responsive education, research consultations, high-level provincial internal and external engagement, and culturally responsive recruitment and retention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute provincial operational and business plans;
  • Support strategy through cross-functional collaboration within the provincial portfolio and across the organization;
  • Work closely with provincial system leaders, physicians, educational institutions, and community partners;
  • Deliver Ministry of Health and SHA priorities across the province;
  • Develop coalitions and build partnerships/networks to create results;
  • Mobilize people, inspire, and lead by example;
  • Transform systems, encourage innovation, and adapt to change;
Requirements
  • Five years of experience working with First Nations and Métis cultures;
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Licenses, if applicable;
  • Critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills, analytical skills, and ability to adapt to change;
  • Commitment to a diverse, representative workforce and cultural safety;
  • Knowledge of the Saskatchewan healthcare system, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action, and applicable legislation and standards;
