3D Generalist Job Description

Blackbird Interactive is seeking a highly skilled 3D Generalist to contribute to the creation of AAA Action Adventure Games. As a 3D Generalist, you will be responsible for modeling and texturing level assets, including environment art, terrain, and props.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create 3D models, shaders, and texture maps that meet concept art, art direction, and design standards.
  • Collaborate with Leads to ensure consistency in scale, details, and quality across all asset work.
  • Work with the level design and narrative teams to produce high-quality, textured assets.
  • Adapt work methods to the project pipeline and meet technical constraints.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in the video game industry and integrate them into the project.
  • Work on tasks with clear direction, with and without supervision.
Requirements:
  • Thorough knowledge and proficiency with Maya.
  • Knowledge of game art asset implementation in modern game engines.
  • Experience creating textures for a PBR lighting model.
  • Knowledge of Substance Painter/Designer.
  • Proven capability to work on multidisciplinary project teams and handle changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience playing modern action-adventure games.
  • Demonstrated passion for entertainment products/media.
  • Knowledgeable of Quixel Bridge and Mixer.
