Job Summary

As a Group Manager of Signalling Systems Engineering, you will lead a team of engineers to ensure quality targets and reproducible performances. You will be responsible for staffing the team, defining project strategy, and delivering solutions for integrating tangible performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and implement department guidelines, including team profile, abilities, growth plans, and discipline evolutions.
  • Develop and maintain métier/domain competences, coaching the team and growing Railway Signalling Systems Engineering experts.
  • Set clear team goals, delegate tasks, and set deadlines.
  • Provide support to the team during project execution.
  • Promote Alstom values.
  • Prepare and host management reviews.
  • Define and govern the group's strategy with stakeholders.
  • Develop golden rules for effective workshare by métier.
  • Continuously motivate, encourage, evaluate, and recognize team members, in cooperation with HR, as per approved performance evaluation process and targets.
  • Deploy Global Systems Engineering Processes, Methods, and Tools in the team, providing feedback for Process reviews.
  • Collect REX from execution and innovation opportunities to feed Reference Library where applicable and share outcomes at department level.
  • Estimate/validate activities quotations for tenders and projects.
  • Manage adequacy between estimated workload and capacity, considering subcontracting & business strategies, report status and issues to department head.
  • Commit to Project/Tender QCD related to Signalling Systems Engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or scientific subjects. Master's degree desirable.
  • English, full proficient use.
  • P. Eng Certification desirable.
Experience
  • Engineering and processes background.
  • Experience in project execution and management.
  • Hands-on experience in Signalling Systems Engineering.
  • Experience and understanding in project estimating.
  • Comprehensive understanding of governance models and balanced scorecards in a technical environment.
  • Experience of working in multicultural and international environments.
