We are seeking a reliable and skilled ON-CALL Custodian with a 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate or Higher to join our team at the Vancouver School Board. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of schools, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash
  • Operate and maintain power equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor polishers
  • Assist with special events and projects, such as setup and cleanup
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives
Requirements:
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Valid 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate or a Recognized Power Engineering Program Certificate with Inter-Provincial Certification
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to accept assignments on short notice
