About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at The Gananoque Inn & Spa. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including complete meals and individual dishes, for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, including dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Special Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Staff Training and Supervision: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and supervise kitchen staff and helpers.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas, and organize buffets and banquets.
  • Staff Management: Recruit and hire staff, and manage kitchen operations.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Possess a Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Cuisine Specialties: Have experience in South Indian, East Indian, West Indian, and Vegetarian cuisine.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Be able to stand for extended periods, work under pressure, and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess excellent oral communication skills, flexibility, organization, reliability, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience: Have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
