The position of Sanitation and Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of buildings, facilities and their surrounding grounds. Additional responsibilities include removal of waste and recycling containers and maintaining sanitary conditions to ensure safety and cleanliness.

As a key member of the facilities team, you will be responsible for powering vehicles, motion, work, and lives since 1966. Your role will involve:

  • Running floor scrubbers to ensure a clean and safe environment
  • Emptying garbage and recycling bins to maintain a clean and healthy workspace
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping all areas indicated on the housekeeping plan to ensure a clean and tidy environment
  • Washing or scrubbing designated areas as required to maintain a high level of cleanliness
  • Maintaining outside company property to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for employees and visitors
  • Working in conjunction with maintenance personnel as needed to ensure timely and effective resolution of maintenance issues
  • Calculating the cost of supplies by multiplying unit prices by quantities and totaling them to ensure efficient use of resources

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent general education
  • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience, which is considered an asset
  • The ability to interact with clients to provide and receive job-related information, assess cleaning situations, and discuss costs
  • The ability to read and understand Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) labels on products to understand applicable safety cautions

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
