Job Summary

The Finance Manager will be responsible for leading the financial planning, forecasting, and analysis functions for the Mon Sheong Foundation. This includes managing the team to ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP and organizational policies, as well as preparing and reviewing financial reports to support the organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial planning and forecasting models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets, and provide guidance to budget owners on budget dynamics and organizational changes.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including monthly and quarterly forecasts, to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement process improvements to drive performance and business results.
  • Collaborate with other department managers to support overall organization goals and objectives.
  • Provide training, coaching, and guidance to accounting staff, and handle personnel issues related to staff conflicts, absenteeism, and performance issues.
  • Work with direct reports to establish goals and performance objectives, and monitor and communicate progress to help staff achieve higher performance.
  • Support the CFO with special projects and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • 5 years of related experience in not-for-profit environments with in-depth knowledge of Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with attention to detail and openness to new ideas and procedures.
  • High standards of accuracy and precision, highly organized.
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly self-driven and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on challenging tasks and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business and financial reports.
  • A high level of commitment to customer service towards internal and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office software and Sage Accpac accounting software.
  • Experience in cost analysis is an asset.
