Job Summary

CIMA+ is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Power System Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our distribution team, you will provide technical expertise for electrical distribution infrastructure in accordance with client standards, engineering principles, guidelines, policies, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the distribution team;
  • Resolve design and field engineering problems by conducting independent studies and analysis;
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating with stakeholders and performing activities such as defining the scope of Distribution engineering services to be provided;
  • Provide specialized expertise in Distribution and actively mentor, coach, and set high standards for work performance;
  • Exercise innovation to propose creative modifications to improve work processes, guidelines, instructions, procedures and standards where possible;
  • Design overhead line structures and associated facilities for voltages up to 35kV in an electric utility environment.
Requirements
  • 10+ years experience in an engineering role with specific Distribution knowledge ideally within British Columbia;
  • Experience related to expertise in Overhead - and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV;
  • Good communications skills to adequately articulate and discuss technical options and ability to present proposed solutions to a wide range of audiences;
  • Familiarity with GIS, CAD systems and drawing standards;
  • Ability to use standard industry design/analysis software such as SPIDAcalc and PLSCAD;
  • Ability to work with remote partners and team members.

The expected salary for this position is from $105,440 to $131,800 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate's experience, training, skills and internal equity.
