About the Role

Ausenco is a leading consulting company that delivers innovative solutions for complex projects. We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team in Burnaby, Canada.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers on assigned projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and performing electrical engineering detail design calculations
  • Designing station replacement equipment for BC Hydro, including circuit breakers and disconnects
  • Designing and specifying electric power systems and equipment for various sectors
  • Performing engineering and electrical systems studies, technical evaluations, cost estimates, and options analysis
  • Conducting site visits, field reviews, and power system studies
  • Preparing and evaluating tender and construction packages
  • Reviewing drawings for accuracy, completeness, and quality
  • Directing and mentoring junior staff, providing technical advice and guidance
  • Consulting with other departments, suppliers, and contractors
  • Preparing technical reports, tender documentation, and field support
  • Communicating effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Systems Engineer with a strong background in design and technical leadership. Your qualifications should include:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering license (P.Eng.) in Canada
  • 5 years of experience in design of electrical systems within Utility, Municipal, and Industrial sectors
  • At least 2 years of experience designing BC Hydro station projects
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in teams and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and report-writing skills
  • Desirable assets: experience in Telecom projects
