Tax Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our Finance team at CB Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing tax planning and compliance activities in the Canadian, U.S., and international tax areas. Your objective will be to minimize tax and tax-related costs, while ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize the overall tax burden of the consolidated group of companies.
- Manage the preparation and timely filing of certain Canadian and foreign tax compliance requirements, including SR&ED filings and film tax credits.
- Ensure compliance with tax and withholding taxes on revenue, including issues related to the leasing of projection and camera equipment, the licensing of films, and the provision of maintenance services.
- Optimize processes to align with available systems and establish and implement best practices to track and analyze global income tax expenses and tax-related balance sheet accounts.
- Collaborate with finance directors to properly calculate tax provisions and tax-related balance sheet items and communicate tax true-ups and other tax-related issues.
- University degree and CA or CPA designation, with completion of the CICA In-depth Tax Course.
- 3+ years of experience in a financial accounting role, including time in the tax department of a public accounting firm or industry.
- Familiarity with Canadian and provincial corporate income and capital tax legislation, U.S. federal and state corporate tax legislation, and international tax issues under double taxation treaties and transfer pricing issues.
- Expertise in developing and analyzing tax planning and tax minimization strategies, with high proficiency in Excel and software for data modeling.
