Overview:

The Operations Engineer will support the 380 mmcfd Patterson Creek Gas Plant, part of Pembina's Operations Business Division. This position reports to the Supervisor, Operations Engineering in the Gas Services Business Unit (GBU) and will be based out of the Grande Prairie office.

The successful candidate will work directly with the operations and maintenance teams to optimize daily gas plant operation, design and authenticate Management of Change (MOC) projects, and serve as a single point of contact for other departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage engineering activities related to facility operation and integrity, including regulatory functions such as those involving AER and ABSA.
  • Troubleshoot facility issues to minimize impacts on production and maintain product quality specifications.
  • Monitor plant performance and collaborate with operations and maintenance to identify opportunities for increased throughput and reduced costs.
  • Evaluate facility optimization and GHG reduction opportunities.
  • Coordinate and execute projects under the MOC process and Project Delivery & Governance Lifecycle framework (PDGL).
  • Lead engineering design, estimating, project planning, scheduling, and equipment sourcing.
  • Maintain interface between Engineering, Operations, Commercial, Projects, Finance, and Accounting teams.
  • Support planning and delivery of facility maintenance, regulatory, and turnaround schedules.
  • Plan engineering capital and operating budgets for facilities.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing discussions with operations engineering team members.
  • Support operations engineers for other facilities within the same district as needed.
Requirements:
  • Registered Professional Engineer in good standing with a University degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, including Engineers In Training (EIT).
  • Knowledge in ASME, CSA, and regulatory codes related to oil and gas facility operation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, applying sound engineering judgment and recommendations to operations teams.
  • Advanced computer skills, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Previous experience supporting a processing facility is an asset.
  • Previous experience in engineering design is also beneficial.
Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
