Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our research team in Montreal, QC.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year.

Job Requirements:

  • Execute data analysis within a framework of guided research.
  • Collect and process economic and statistical data using Macrobond, APL, Bloomberg and available data sources.
  • Keep track of economic and financial data releases, as well as economic policy announcements.
  • Participate in research idea generation in an area of focus (region and/or asset class).
  • Break down information/data and identify underlying causes to perform data analysis, testing and to create/develop/maintain basic models and indicators to support your Managing Editor's hypotheses.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the production process by autonomously conducting preliminary research and creating detailed charts.
  • Develop analysis and writing skills by contributing to regular publications and special reports.
  • Provide client support on data and charts.
  • Responsible for proofreading.

Requirements:

  • Fluidity with major data providers (Macrobond, APL, and Bloomberg) and ability to search in datasets.
  • Data analytics - familiarity with econometric methods.
  • Knowledge of computers is essential: superior level skills with Excel and Microsoft Office.
