About the Role
We are seeking an Environmental Technician to join our team at EnviroEmplois. As an Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for conducting activities related to the control and management of invasive plant species in natural environments within the Montérégie, Greater Montreal, and North Shore regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain natural habitats through activities such as mulching, maintenance of wildlife habitats, and other related tasks;
- Participate in invasive plant species control and management activities, including the removal of common reed and blackthorn;
- Participate in tree and shrub planting activities as part of ongoing projects;
- Record data on observed usage, flora, fauna, or any anomalies noted;
- Prepare certain follow-up reports;
- Sensitize users of frequented environments;
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Diploma in a relevant college program;
- Two years of relevant experience;
- Good physical condition;
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions;
- Good knowledge of the fauna and flora present in southern Quebec;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to speak clearly in French and hold a basic conversation in English (an asset);
- Access to a vehicle and availability to travel in Montérégie, the Greater Montreal area, and the North Shore.
