About the Role

EnviroEmplois is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Technician to join our multidisciplinary team of engineers, agronomists, biologists, geographers, and specialists in geomatics. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various technical tasks on our projects, including supervising contractors and ensuring compliance with plans, permits, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with plans, permits, and regulations for projects in various environments (agricultural, forestry, hydrogeology, etc.).
  • Implement and enforce environmental mitigation measures and best practices.
  • Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and waste samples.
  • Participate in field inspections for Phase I environmental assessments and prepare proposals as needed.
  • Describe soil characteristics, properties, and composition.
  • Document observations (notes, photos, etc.) in a daily project report.
  • Attend meetings with contractors and clients.
  • Collaborate with all departments to complete projects.
  • Promote and implement the company's health and safety program.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Environmental Studies or related field.
  • Practical experience in environmental monitoring on construction sites.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate in French and English (an asset) verbally and in writing.
  • Completed the General Health and Safety Course on Construction Sites (ASP-Construction).
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
  • Asset: knowledge of biology (wetland delineation, species identification for conservation).
  • Asset: practical experience in agriculture (subsurface drainage, excavation, tillage, seeding).
