Job Summary
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for manufacturing a variety of parts using CNC programmable lathes and milling machines, ensuring high-quality products that meet our customers' expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety
- Ensure a safe working environment by wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safety laws, regulations, codes, policies, and procedures.
- Identify and correct situations that could jeopardize safety, and report immediately any unsafe conditions or hazards to the appropriate person.
- Quality
- Verify the quality of the product manufactured meets standards by completing QC checklists and using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, rulers, protractors, etc.
- Ensure parts are free of visible damage and alert the Machine Shop Supervisor to any issues with product quality.
- Productivity
- Gather parts, tools, and fixtures, and maintain and repair equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Review traveler/job package, set up jigs, and use hand tools and other mobile equipment to machine parts as per instructions on work orders and engineering drawings.
- Program CNC machines by entering instructions and reference points, and set up CNC machines by installing tools, attachments, collets, bushings, etc.
- Verify settings by measuring positions and performing dry runs.
- Continuous Improvement
- Aid in the development of production procedures where necessary, and continuously improve work processes and methods to increase efficiency and productivity.
