Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Lead to join our team in Toronto, Canada. As a Business Systems Lead, you will play a key role in managing critical initiatives and requirement finalizations for projects/priorities tied to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime domain.

The estimated salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience. This includes a comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses, flexible benefits and competitive compensation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with a strong background in leading SWIFT or Non-Swift payment related projects. They will also have experience in Data Analysis using SQL and Excel, and in data mapping between systems for integrations.

In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills. They will be able to work effectively in an Agile environment, using Jira, creating user stories, and overall knowledge of the Agile Framework.

The Business Systems Lead will be responsible for:

  • Leading detailed requirement phases by identifying, tracking, escalating and/or resolving business systems issues.
  • Assessing, researching, analyzing and documenting sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with the Project Life Cycle utilizing reporting tools.
  • Identifying, tracking and resolving business systems issues.
  • Creating or leading the development of detailed level process maps to facilitate requirements gathering, gap analysis and for training usage.
  • Managing project documentation (issues log, process maps, etc.) and resolves emerging issues at the implementation stage of the project.
What You Will Need

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • At least 10 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
  • Experience in leading SWIFT or Non-Swift payment related projects.
  • Experience in Data Analysis using SQL and Excel, and in data mapping between systems for integrations.
  • Strong experience working in Agile projects, using Jira, creating user stories, and overall knowledge of the Agile Framework.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in financial services or AML.
  • Reporting experience.
  • Dev background (in ETL/Big Data domain).
