Job Summary

The York Region District School Board is seeking a qualified Designated Early Childhood Educator to join our team on a casual basis. As a Designated Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for providing education to pupils in kindergarten, observing and monitoring their development, and maintaining a healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver education to pupils in kindergarten
  • Observe, monitor, and assess the development of pupils in kindergarten
  • Maintain a healthy physical, emotional, and social learning environment
  • Communicate with families and provide support as needed
  • Perform all duties assigned by the principal, including supervision of students and support with daily activities
  • Guide and assist students in developing self-help skills, such as eating, dressing, and toileting
  • Attend meetings as required and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma with a recognized post-secondary diploma/degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario
  • Minimum one year of related experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • General working knowledge of computers and Board-approved software
  • Ability to physically assist children as required
