About This Opportunity

CDA-AMC is seeking a highly skilled Executive Communications Strategist to join our team in Ottawa or Toronto. As a trusted advisor, you will provide strategic communications guidance to support our organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute effective communications plans to support our strategic plan, identifying opportunities and providing recommended courses of action.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality written content quickly with minimal oversight, including executive-level briefing notes, presentations, speeches, editorials, and opinion pieces.
  • Audience Analysis: Conduct research to understand the needs and preferences of various audiences, adapting the tone and style of communications accordingly.
  • Crisis Communications: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide advice on crisis situations, corporate positioning, media relations, and executive communications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, or communications, with a minimum of 7 years of professional writing or corporate writing experience.
  • Extensive experience researching, speechwriting, and editing communications content in a government office, higher-education institution, public relations agency, or related environment.
  • Specialist knowledge of internal and external public relations, traditional and social media relations, and related communications methodologies, techniques, and best practices.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to adapt complexity, tone, and style to suit different audiences.
  • Experience collaborating directly with senior-level administrators or executives, with a proven ability to balance and deliver on multiple projects.
