Job Description

This Physiotherapist role involves working under the guidance of the Health Services Manager, Primary Health Care, Chronic Disease Management and Wellness. The successful candidate will utilize behavior change methods, case management, and client-centered approaches in individual or group settings.

You will collaborate with Primary Health Care staff, family physicians, other healthcare providers, and community groups to provide guidance and support for clients. This includes providing information about appropriate supports and programs that meet health and wellness needs and social supports that assist with daily living.

The incumbent is responsible for exercise program development, implementation, and evaluation. Strong leadership skills are essential for this role, as you will work within a highly collaborative inter-disciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include completing intake assessments and facilitating group exercise programs. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required for success in this position.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists
  • Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Experience in providing group exercise prescriptions or community programming is an asset
  • Collaborative work experience with interdisciplinary teams is highly valued
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel are necessary
  • ACSM Exercise Specialist Certification or CSEP is considered beneficial
  • Prior experience in partnership development, stakeholder collaboration, and community development is preferred
Compensation

$33.96 - $42.89 Hourly

This salary reflects the competitive compensation package offered by Nova Scotia Health, which also includes benefits such as health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
