Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Ceramic Artist and Studio Manager to join our team at Clay Space Inc.

About the Role:
  • This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced studio environment.

The successful candidate will have experience in ceramics, fine arts, and teaching or mentoring. They will be responsible for designing and delivering craftmaking lessons, organizing day-to-day business operations, and supervising apprentices or other artisans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Gather necessary working materials to demonstrate crafting techniques;
  2. Prepare and deliver craftmaking lessons;
  3. Design ornamental and ceramic functional earthenware pieces;
  4. Organise day-to-day business operations;
  5. Supervise apprentices or other artisans;
  6. Handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

The ideal candidate will have excellent oral communication skills, efficient interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in art/art studies, fine arts, or related field;
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in a similar role;
  • Work setting: Private studio experience preferred;
  • Weight handling: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
