The RoleWe are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team as an Energy Optimization Specialist. This role will report to the Data Science and Data Engineering Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop machine learning models and data-driven insights that enhance oil and gas well performance.
You will work closely with subject matter experts, other data scientists, and technical team members to drive growth and profitability.
- Job Responsibilities:
- Create data-driven solutions to optimize energy production and reduce downtime.
- Develop and operationalize advanced machine learning models using large-scale datasets from IoT sensors and industrial systems.
- Analyze complex datasets to identify anomalies and opportunities for operational improvements.
- Communicate complex data insights and deliver technical presentations to internal teams, explaining model functionality, results, and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business problems, identify requirements, and create data-driven solutions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering discipline, Mechanical or Petroleum preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with oil and gas production operations such as artificial lift design/installation/optimization, production surveillance, failure identification, or reservoir engineering.
- Knowledge of data science and machine learning methods, ideally within industrial, IoT, or energy sectors.
- Familiarity with SCADA data, IoT data pipelines, and industrial control systems.
- Proficiency in Python with a solid understanding of machine learning libraries.
- Experience working with large-scale datasets, SQL, and distributed computing platforms.
- Strong foundation in statistics, optimization, and predictive modeling.
