Veterinary Technologist, ER, Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Veterinary Technologist to join our Emergency Department team at the Vancouver Animal Emergency and Referral Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, working collaboratively with our veterinarians and other support staff, and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care, including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in-house lab work, anesthesia/sedation monitoring, patient assessment, and emergency triage.
- Work collaboratively with our veterinarians and other support staff to ensure seamless patient care and efficient hospital operations.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance technical skills and expertise.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to pet owners and other stakeholders.
- Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) or eligible to register.
- Confident team player who can also work independently when required.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to put pets and pet owners at ease.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with colleagues and pet owners.
- Ability to perform a variety of clinical procedures, including venipuncture, catheter placement, radiology, in-house lab work, anesthesia/sedation monitoring, patient assessment, and emergency triage.
- Willingness to further enhance technical skills and expertise.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to keep accurate medical records.
