Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Counsel II to join our Regulatory Enforcement Action Team within the Enforcement Division at the Ontario Securities Commission. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting investigations and litigating breaches of Ontario securities law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct legal research and examine files for potential breaches of Ontario securities law
  • Identify important legal issues and assist in the formulation of a strategy for successful investigations
  • Prosecute Securities Act violations before the Commission and Commercial List
  • Gain valuable advocacy experience and mentoring opportunities
  • Work closely with senior litigation counsel to support or participate in complex hearings/trials
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of litigation experience, preferably in securities-related matters
  • Lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • On your feet litigation experience, including conducting proceedings in securities-related matters and appearing before administrative tribunals
  • In-depth knowledge of criminal law and/or administrative law and/or securities law
  • Working knowledge of the securities and commodities markets
