We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our Community Services Department as a Lifeguard/Instructor. Reporting to the Programs Manager and under the direct supervision of the Pool Supervisor and Assistant Pool Supervisor, the incumbent will provide constant safety supervision, instruct a wide variety of aquatic programs, provide exceptional customer service, and assist with special events. This position will be responsible for maintenance duties as assigned and will act as shift leader, providing general direction to part-time staff in the absence of the Pool Supervisor and Assistant Pool Supervisor.
Requirements:- A Grade 12 diploma
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a lifeguard and/or instructor
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work shift work
- Current certification in the following:
- National Lifeguard Certification
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
- Lifesaving Instructor
- Standard First Aid AED/CPR Basic Rescuer
The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive annual salary range of $70,872-$83,124, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including housing and vacation travel allowance totaling $450 per month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
