Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to assume the position of Lifeguard/Instructor with the Community Services Department. The successful candidate will provide constant safety supervision, instruct a wide variety of aquatic programs, provide exceptional customer service and assist with special events.
Responsibilities:
- Provide safety supervision and instruction for aquatic programs
- Assist with special events and maintenance duties as assigned
- Act as shift leader and provide general direction to part-time staff in the absence of the Pool Supervisor and Assistant Pool Supervisor
- Hold current certification in National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, Lifesaving Instructor, and Standard First Aid AED/CPR Basic Rescuer
Requirements:
The incumbent must possess a Grade 12 diploma and have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a lifeguard and/or instructor. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work shift work is required.
What We Offer:
The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive annual salary range of $70,872-$83,124, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including housing and vacation travel allowance totalling $450 per month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
