Geotechnical Technician

**About the Role**

AECOM is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Technician to support our engineering team in Ottawa. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our projects.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Conduct various tasks in support of engineering office and field staff, including testing and assessment of construction materials and attending projects with problematic ground conditions.

* Perform measurements and record observations, liaising with project engineering staff to determine cost-effective solutions.

* Complete granular and soils material sampling, coordinate with utility locators and sub-contractor representatives, and assist with mobilization and demobilization of project-related equipment.

* File project-related notes and drawings according to project requirements and assist with preparation of field instructions and Health and Safety plans.

* Assist with general data entry, analysis, and preparing documents, as well as collecting environmental samples for chemical assessment.

**Requirements**

* High School diploma with 2+ years of related field experience.

* Availability to travel.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Good understanding of soils and past experience in geotechnical drilling (soil logging, insitu site testing, rock core logging).
