Experienced Marine Engineering Asset Assessor

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Surveyor to join our team in Halifax, Canada. As an experienced marine engineering asset assessor, you will be responsible for assessing the design, production, and in-service aspects of engineering assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct relevant activities, undertake existing ship surveys, and provide advice for service delivery within your area of experience, adhering to budget constraints and contractual requirements.
- Produce deliverables to agreed schedules, budgets, and quality levels within an appropriate format and take responsibility to review and monitor other employees' work as requested.
- Discuss and present deliverables with internal/external clients and suggest solutions as necessary.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue Continuous Professional Development and maintain a high degree of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
- Assess or recommend the time and value of work to be undertaken for external clients and assist in identifying the most appropriate fee and cost structure.
- Mentor/coach other employees, as appropriate, to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application.
- Contribute to external client management; ensuring service delivery is continually improved through monitoring and acting on client feedback appropriately.
- Ensure appropriate authorizations are gained and kept up-to-date. This may involve Activity Monitoring.
- Undertake routine administration as required in line with current processes and procedures.
Requirements:
- You will eliminate or minimize employees' exposure to risks by reviewing regularly the health and safety risk register, applying appropriate controls, communicating results of risk assessment, and ensuring health and safety is considered in the planning and execution of all LR activities.
- Manage your own and your team's compliance with health and safety rules, instructions, systems, and legal requirements, ensuring employees are suitably trained and adequate resources are available to work safely.
- Monitor and review health and safety performance, observe safety behaviors in the workplace, taking appropriate corrective and preventative action as necessary, and suggesting and implementing improvement activities.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for career growth and professional development.
