Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Facilities Engineer to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As a key member of our engineering group, you will play a vital role in designing and developing marine facilities and infrastructure projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, with experience in the design and construction of marine facilities such as jetties, wharfs, and piers. You will be responsible for providing technical input to project teams, developing study and design procedures, and participating in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized technical input to structural studies and design of marine facilities and infrastructure projects
  • Serve as a senior technical resource, providing guidance and support to junior engineers
  • Develop and implement study and design procedures to ensure high-quality, cost-effective work
  • Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, ensuring that all aspects of the project are thoroughly examined
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimate technical efforts for projects
Requirements
  • University degree in Structural Engineering, plus four (4) years of relevant experience in the design and construction of marine facilities and infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered
  • Engineering designation (P.Eng) required
  • Experience in pile foundations and concrete decks an asset
  • Experience in saltwater construction an asset
