This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve problems, ensuring excellent customer care and making recommendations for solutions.
  • Contact customers regarding incoming freight, purchase orders, and monies due in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Produce accurate freight loads for company aircraft, adhering to weight and balance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Enter accurate freight data into tracking software.
  • Manage cargo acceptance and inventory control.
  • Assist with tracking delayed baggage.
  • Complete daily sales reports and other required paperwork.
  • Follow company policies and procedures for accepting dangerous goods.
  • Perform daily facility opening and closing procedures.
  • Adhere to Wasaya's Customer Care Commitments.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous shipping and receiving experience an asset.
  • Valid class G driver's license required.
  • Previous airline experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment, including forklift trucks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of waybill completion an asset.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently.
  • Good organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet/email.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to deal sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally with all individuals.

Working Conditions

  • Overtime as required.
  • Travel may be necessary.
  • Transportation to and from YPL (out of YQT) provided, if needed.
  • Food and accommodations provided (rotational work).
  • Weekend work may be required.
  • Exposure to hazards associated with the trade.
  • May be exposed to loud noise, dirt, oil, and fumes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. repetitively.
  • Manual dexterity required for desktop computer and peripheral use.
