Security Infrastructure Specialist

The Security Infrastructure Specialist will play a critical role in protecting the assets and personnel of G+D Canada. This position will be responsible for monitoring, supporting, and maintaining the company's physical security infrastructure, including physical access control systems, burglar alarm systems, CCTV, and NVR systems. The individual in this role will also be responsible for performing audits, processing security screenings, and supervising the guard service.
Primary Responsibilities- System Configuration and Maintenance: Manage the system configuration and maintenance of physical security infrastructure, including physical access control systems, burglar alarm systems, CCTV, and NVR systems.
- Design and Improvement: Lead the design and improvement of the security infrastructure for optimal efficiency, providing recommendations to the Security Manager for final approval.
- Solution Implementation: Implement solutions and coordinate with external vendors, ensuring proposals and changes are aligned with organizational strategic goals, subject to Security Manager approval.
- Technical Support: Provide Level 1 technical support for these systems and engage and manage external vendors as required for Level 2 support.
- Maintenance Inspections: Coordinate maintenance inspections on related infrastructure in accordance with facility certification requirements.
- Training and Supervision: Train other members of the Security Team and uniformed security personnel in the operation of these systems and provide supervision as required.
- Physical Security: Monitor and maintain physical security of all G+D Canada locations and enforce company visitor management processes and procedures.
- Access Control: Coordinate access control changes for internal transfers and contract extensions in accordance with company policies.
- Guard Supervision: Supervise uniformed security personnel, ensuring requirements are documented and properly implemented, providing guard training and supervision as required.
- Emergency Response: Provide after-hours security, alarm, and emergency response support and lead crisis and emergency response efforts, coordinating closely with the Security Manager to ensure that security incidents are handled with efficiency and in alignment with company policies.
- CCTV and Access Control Support: Support and troubleshoot CCTV, physical access control, and alarm system devices, including semi-annual device inspections and service calls.
- Cybersecurity Support: Serve as a backup to the Cybersecurity Analyst.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as required, including complying with G+D Canada Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures and reporting any Environmental, Health & Safety hazards, incidents, and concerns to the immediate supervisor/manager.
This position may require extended periods of walking or standing. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of major enterprise solutions for physical access control, burglar alarm, and NVR platforms, as well as a technical understanding of networking. Post-secondary diploma or degree is preferred, and First Aid Certification is required. The candidate must have strong English verbal and written skills, knowledge of software used for e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, and excellent organization skills for documentation processing and filing.
