About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team at the Geneva Centre for Autism. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the team, including data entry, filing, and other tasks as required.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement behaviour management programs to support individuals with ASD, promoting positive behaviour and reducing challenging behaviours.
  • Client Support: Assist clients with special needs, providing emotional support, guidance, and advocacy as needed.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement individualized support plans, ensuring a comprehensive and coordinated approach to client care.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Certifications: Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgement, client focus, flexibility, initiative, and a team player.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a community agency setting, providing support to individuals with ASD in an urban area. The work environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring the ability to work under pressure and handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Language and Work Schedule

The primary language of work is English, and the work schedule is 1 to 24 hours per week, with a temporary work term.
