Job Title: Child and Youth Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Youth Worker to join our team at Superior North Catholic District School Board.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide assessment, intervention, and support to children and youth in a school-based setting. This role requires a strong understanding of child and youth development, mental health principles, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group support to children and youth with diverse needs and backgrounds
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement student success plans
  • Conduct assessments and develop interventions to address children's mental health and behavioral needs
  • Participate in staff training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Work effectively with children who require mental health and/or behavioral support
Requirements:
  • Child and Youth Worker degree/diploma from a recognized and accredited university or college
  • Member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (an asset)
  • Experience in children's mental health or related field of practice
  • Knowledge of child and youth development, mental health principles, and effective communication skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
