Job Opportunity

At Royal Bank of Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data systems and pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and assistance with the extraction, loading, and transformation of unstructured datasets
  • Maintain long-running services, APIs, and data pipelines, including monitoring, logging, and resource management
  • Help with the development of BizOps, Data Science, and Machine Learning products and algorithms to solve impactful business problems
  • Support projects with thorough documentation of usage, design decisions, and capabilities
  • Demonstrate results and findings to various internal and external business stakeholders

Requirements

  • Thrive on searching and understanding the meaning of data
  • Demonstrated success writing robust data pipelines leveraging technologies such as Spark, SQL, Airflow, Redshift, Snowflake, or Hadoop
  • Experience with Java or a JVM-based programming language such as Kotlin
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
