Job Title: Educational Program Assistant

Springvale Elementary is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Program Assistant to join our team. As an Educational Program Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational programs and services provided to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the implementation of educational programs and services for students.
  • Provide support to teachers and other educational staff in the delivery of educational programs.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of educational materials and resources.
  • Support the coordination of educational events and activities.
Requirements:
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Medium Lifting (up to 50 pounds).
  • Trained or willing to be trained in toileting, personal care, and use of assistive technology.
  • Behaviour Management Support (assist with implementation and tracking of behaviour targets, de-escalation strategies, foster pro-social and conflict resolution skills, implement calming strategies).
Assets:
  • Experience working with students with Down's Syndrome.
  • Experience working with students with Autism.
  • A related diploma or certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution, including a formal practicum placement.
