Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Operations Manager to oversee the planning operations at our Retail Packaging and Display Division.

About the Role

This leadership position will ensure that our production facility has adequate capacity to meet demand, constantly adjusting to maintain the right balance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of the production planner role and vacation replacement
  • Oversight of the material coordinator role and vacation replacement
  • Control of all expedites while monitoring machine loading and order entry (bookings)
  • Liaison between the Sales, Customer Service, and Production Teams
  • Resolution of material supply issues
  • Monitoring inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Responsibility for constantly monitoring the situation on the production floor to smooth out demand
  • Negotiation of balanced solutions with Customer Service, Production, and Sales
  • Prompt resolution of requests to insert orders following the insert protocol
  • Response to plant breakdowns by moving orders/accounts or requesting sheet orders
  • Preparation of various reports, as required, including board lead time and inventory analysis on key accounts
  • Collaboration with the Planner/Schedulers to coordinate expedites and balances reruns
  • Contribution to team effort by accomplishing related results and performing other duties as assigned
  • Negotiation with vendors on pricing and rebates when required
  • Maintenance of a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma
  • At least 3 years of experience in roles such as inventory, scheduling, shipping, or customer service in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Corrugated experience is an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel and MS Word
  • Excellent organizational, detail-oriented, and results-driven skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, balancing multiple priorities and making tough decisions in a timely manner
  • Professional presentation skills

Compensation Package

The salary for this position is approximately $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and comparable positions in the area.
