Medical Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our Core Lab team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical and scientific results in a timely manner using the latest technology.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure sample identification is correct and specimen requirements are met according to established procedures.
- Perform routine testing duties within Chemistry, including analyzer maintenance, calibration, QC, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure quality control standards are maintained, investigate missing samples, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Record, interpret, and/or approve test results.
- Identify and report incidents and non-conformities.
- You must thrive independently, applying sound decision-making principles and ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment.
- You must bring a high level of interpersonal skills and be a natural fit within a collaborative working environment.
- You must carry a CMLTO Registration as a practicing Medical Laboratory Technologist in good standing.
- You must be proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
- You must have a solid ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Nice to have: working experience in the Chemistry field, knowledge and understanding of CQI, knowledge of IQMH/Accreditation Canada.
- Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- High visual requirements
- Repetitive fine motor movements of hands
- Perform duties in stationary standing/sitting positions
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents, and bio-hazardous and radioactive materials
- Shift work required
