Job Title: Executive Director, Information Technology

Legal Aid Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director, Information Technology to lead our IT team and drive the organization's technology strategy forward.

Job Summary:

The Executive Director, Information Technology will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the IT team, ensuring the effective delivery of IT services and solutions that support the organization's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the IT team and provide strategic direction on IT initiatives and projects.
  • Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure, including cloud, external, and on-premise data centers, hardware, software, networks, and systems.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of data, systems, and information assets.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align the organization's priorities with the IT vision, goals, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships and collaborations to leverage shared IT resources internally and externally.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in business, software engineering, IT, or equivalent.
  • Certifications in Systems Engineering, Network Operations, Database Management, IT Infrastructure Library, Digital Business Strategy, Cyber Security, Enterprise Content Management, Project Management, and Organizational Change Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in senior information technology leadership roles in a for-profit setting.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the field of information technology.
  • Experience in identifying and mitigating cyber security risks and business continuity planning for IT risks.
  • Use of best practices in all aspects of leadership role, including change management, oversight functions, understanding of technical operations and services functions, performance measurement, and benchmarking.
