About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Analytics Developer to join our Operational Excellence team at Warner Bros. Discovery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement across the WBD Engineering community to ensure smooth and efficient operation and the highest customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Video QoE Reliability Engineering team to improve root cause analysis, instrumentation, and reporting of Video Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics.
  • Champion data-driven decisions to improve and evolve video streaming performance for our customers.
  • Design, implement, and deliver complex data models to produce ongoing operational reporting, program reporting, and executive-level dashboards.
  • Analyze complex data sets using statistical techniques and build reports and dashboards tailored to the needs of engineering teams and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments, including site reliability engineers, QoE Analysts, core media engineering, and customer experience teams to deliver streaming video that exceeds customer expectations.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Computer Science or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Science and Analytics, preferably in the Video Streaming technology space.
  • Experience with analytics engines and monitoring tools like Prometheus, OpenSearch, and query languages such as SQL, PromQL.
  • Proficient with complex SQL and creation of database objects.
  • Solid understanding of statistical inference and applying statistical rigor to analyses.
  • Expert at one or more reporting/visualization tools.
  • Ability to think critically and analyze data trends for operational risks and efficiencies.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills.
  • High sense of ownership, urgency, and proven ability to lead and influence.
