Aon is seeking a Global Captive Benefits Underwriter

This role is pivotal in driving revenue and expansion for the Employee Benefits Financing – Captive Employee Benefits Services sector within Global Benefits at a regional level in the United States. The position involves providing expert underwriting consultancy to multinational clients.

The appointed underwriter will deliver policy underwriting consultancy to US-based multinational corporations, working under the direction of the global Head of Underwriting for Captive Employee Benefits Services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for the Captive Employee Benefits Services advisory sector within Global Benefits.
  • Collaborate with account management teams to ensure timely and effective delivery of underwriting advice to clients.
  • Assess underwriting data processed by Aon ABS.
  • Create policy underwriting proposals for presentation to Risk and Insurance Management on the client side.
  • Share best practices and collaborate with other Regional HSM Underwriters under the leadership of the Head of Underwriting for Captive Employee Benefits Services.
  • Engage in underwriting discussions with Employee Benefits providers across the US client portfolio.
  • Model reinsurance underwriting programs tailored to meet specific client needs.
  • Analyze reinsurance financial statements issued by insurers and align them with captive underwriting reports.
  • Ensure compliance of claims reporting with client specifications.
  • Assist the captive team in managing accounts, implementing Employee Benefits captives, and conducting feasibility studies.
  • Contribute to business growth while gaining valuable experience.
  • Exhibit curiosity and possess strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with numerical data.

Profile of the Captive Employee Benefits Services Consultant

  • Deliver high-quality Captive Employee Benefits underwriting advice to ensure client satisfaction, indirectly supporting sales and revenue growth for the Captive Employee Benefits Services team.
  • Effectively organize and coordinate ABS resources to meet project and client deadlines, guided by the Head of Underwriting.
  • Build a robust internal network of Aon colleagues engaged in underwriting and captive services, as well as an external network of industry contacts.

Essential Skills

  • In-depth knowledge and technical understanding of Employee Benefits underwriting and related processes.
  • Familiarity with life reinsurance.
  • Experience with global service delivery.
  • Team-oriented with a focus on collaboration and both personal and team development.
  • An actuarial background is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Underwriting knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience in Account Management.
