BC Cancer is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as an Oncology Specialist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with cancer, focusing on symptom management, treatment coordination, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, intervention, and symptom management.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV fluids as required by the care plan.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including nursing assessments, telephone communications, and care evaluations.
- Admit, transfer, or discharge patients according to BC Cancer policies and Centre directives.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated clinical knowledge and ability to apply it in practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
