Job Summary:

The Business Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Co. Innovation Centre, a collaborative space in Newfoundland and Labrador designed to address the technology development needs of established and growing companies. This key role will tackle important challenges and help to drive COIC's vision forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building Management:
    • Facility Maintenance: Maintain the innovative space in pristine condition by coordinating repairs, planning improvements, and ensuring the environment sparks creativity and productivity.
    • Safety & Security: Implement top-notch security protocols, manage access control systems, and develop emergency response plans to ensure everyone's safety.
    • Tech & IT: Oversee the tech infrastructure by working with the managed network service provider to ensure seamless internet and IT services, regularly auditing and enhancing systems.
    • Sustainability: Champion green practices by implementing energy-efficient solutions and recycling programs to make operations eco-friendly.
  • Organizational Management:
    • Operational Excellence: Develop and enforce policies that streamline operations and ensure compliance with the latest regulations and industry standards.
    • Performance Tracking: Align operational goals with strategic vision, track performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives for long-term success.
    • Financial Management: Oversee the operational budget, manage expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Requirements:

  • Education: A degree in business administration, operations management, hospitality management, or a related field, or equivalent experiences from your adventurous endeavors.
  • Facility Management Pro: You've successfully navigated the challenges of facility management, demonstrating your expertise and resilience.
  • Experienced and Thriving: You bring experience in similar roles, thriving in fast-paced environments.
  • Partnership Builder: You excel at building strong partnerships with service providers and managing contracts with precision.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office tools like SharePoint, Teams, and others.
  • Operational Guru: You drive operational improvements, uncover efficiencies, and lead successful initiatives.
  • Collaborative Partner: You seamlessly work with diverse teams and understand the nuances of operational processes.
  • Agile and Innovative: Always ready to embrace new challenges and chart new paths forward.
  • Resilient: Maintaining composure and effectiveness in dynamic, fast-changing environments.
  • Problem-Solver: Ready to tackle complex issues head-on.
