About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Primary Health Care Pharmacist, you will work under the supervision of the Manager of Primary Health Care to provide patient-centered care that optimizes safe, effective, and appropriate drug therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide patient care that is tailored to individual needs
  • Identify and resolve drug-related problems, complete medication reconciliation, and participate in interprofessional medical rounds
  • Provide patient education and make therapeutic recommendations to the medical team
  • Ensure safe and effective drug therapy by participating in and overseeing drug distribution systems

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited university program in Pharmacy
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program preferred
  • Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the Province of Nova Scotia
  • Strong knowledge of drugs and therapeutics
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make accurate and timely recommendations regarding safe and cost-effective use of drugs
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
About You

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about providing high-quality patient care. If you have a strong background in pharmacy and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Hours and Compensation

This is a permanent full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The hourly rate is $53.24.
