Job OverviewWe have a rewarding opportunity for an Emergency Psychiatric Liaison Nurse to work in Langley. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team providing person-centered care to psychiatric patients in the Emergency Department.
About the RoleThis role is ideal for a motivated and compassionate nurse who is passionate about mental health and substance use treatment. As an Emergency Psychiatric Liaison Nurse, you will perform initial and ongoing assessments, provide crisis intervention, and develop care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.
Responsibilities- Perform psychosocial assessments and collect collateral information to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to ensure effective patient flow and timely discharge.
- Provide counseling and group facilitation services to promote patient well-being.
- Liaise with community service providers to facilitate transition to aftercare and promote access to community resources.
- Document assessments, care plans, and patient outcomes according to practice standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in nursing from an approved institution.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- One year of recent experience in an acute or community Mental Health & Substance Use setting.
- Ability to communicate effectively and educate patients and families about essential health topics.
The estimated salary for this position is CAD $53,775 - $75,300 per annum, based on a 37.5 hour workweek. We offer a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
